Georgia Sea Turtle Center! The Center is open to the general public and offers an interactive Exhibit Gallery and Rehabilitation Pavilion with a number of view-able sea turtle patients. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a hospital for ill and injured sea turtles. We are the only hospital of its kind in the state of Georgia. $7 for adults (13+ years). $6 for Seniors (65+ years). $5 for children (4-12 years). FREE for children 3 and under. $6 for Active Duty Military Personnel, College Students and Teachers (ID required). Prices include tax. Visitors under 16 years old must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. In accordance with State Health Department regulations, all swimsuits must be covered. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Explore the beach from the edge of the dunes to the low tide. Learn about sea shells, critters living above and below the sand, pull a small seine net through the shallows and see who swims just below the surface! Step into the salt marsh, get to know the fiddler crabs, periwinkle snails, & native plants along with their incredible adaptations for survival. Second Sundays:
This popular family-friendly music event takes place at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. 1-7 p.m. Each month, the proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends–locals and visitors alike–who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music. Raffle tickets are sold for door prizes contributed by area businesses. Kids can play in the inflatable bounce house and slides. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled community event!

The Coastal Georgia Historical Society, in conjunction with the St. Simons Land Trust, will offer in-depth history tours of Cannon’s Point Preserve on March 3. Archaeology consultant Myrna Crook will provide detailed interpretation of this historic site, including the John Couper family and life at Cannon’s Point during the plantation period. Tour groups will meet at the A.W. Jones Heritage Center, 610 Beachview Dr., St. Simons Island, GA, at 9:30 a.m. and will return at 12:30 p.m. The tour is $65 per person. Discover our daring darlings of the Gilded Age who both defied and defined social expectations. Meet the hunting, bicycling, bathing, billiard-shooting ladies of the Jekyll Island Club on this guided living history adventure. Event takes place each Friday in March. March 4:
A day of spicy fun for the entire family at the Red Hot Chili Cookoff! The  Rotary of the Golden Isles presents this annual fundraising event with the best of the best competing for the title of Chili Master. Live music will be provided. Check out the Annual Peaches to the Beaches! In an effort to promote travel and boost the annual economic impact along the parkway Golden Isles Parkway Association organizes Georgia Longest Yard Sale. Thousands of visitors travel the parkway the second Friday and Saturday of March for the annual “Peaches to the Beaches” Yard Sale in search of antiques, collectibles, and hidden treasures. 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

March 16:
Enjoy a screening of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” preceded by a tasting of delicious food from Chef Kate and Indigo Coastal Shanty and an insightful talk about what makes the film a “must see.” Randall P. March 17 – 19:
Join us as we take Caffeine and Octane to Jekyll Island Beach, Georgia for a unique three day event chock full of all things mechanized and cool, just as people have come to expect from Caffeine and Octane.  More than just cars and bikes…for us, it’s a way of life, so we reimagined our favorite car and motorcycle show in totally unexpected ways. The nation’s largest monthly car show drives south east from the bustling city of Atlanta to an idyllic beach atmosphere, right in the heart of the Golden Isles coastline of Georgia. Founders Bruce Piefke and Bryan Fuller will be ratcheting things up a notch with a full schedule of activities for gearheads and their families.

March 18:
Ways to Go Green!ow do humans affect the world around them? What can we do at home to help the environment? Are there ways we can help protect sea turtles even if we don’t live anywhere near the ocean? All of these questions will be answered by spending the day with us as we explore “Ways to Go Green”! Learn all about what Marine Debris is and ways we can stop it from getting to the ocean. Test your knowledge on what is actually recyclable and how long it really takes for that soda can to decompose! Use your sleuthing skills to complete a scavenger hunt in our exhibit gallery while learning all about different types of marine debris and how it affects wildlife. Finally spend sometime taking action by joining us for a beach clean up! The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is proud to offer Science Saturday events. View a bit of history at the Christ Episcopal Church Annual Tour of Homes and Gardens. Christ Church, Frederica and her sister parish, St. Ignatius welcome you to beautiful St Simons and Sea Island for the Annual Tour of Homes hosted by the Episcopal Church Women. For the first time in a number of years, Christ Church’s 61st Tour of Homes will feature a tour of our historic cemetery. The tour will feature reenactments of a few of our more notorious residents. Historic Temple Beth Tefilloh, with the help of Tipsy McSway’s Restaurant, will hold its annual Jewish Food and Culture festival Sunday, March 19, 2016 from noon – 4 p.m. in the Jekyll Squares off Newcastle Street in downtown Brunswick. The entire community is invited to learn more about the Jewish culture by experiencing the music, ceremonies, and, in particular, the delicious traditional food. Admission to the festival is free. Temple members will sell varieties of tasty foods and drinks. There will be activities for children, Israeli dancing and a raffle. Proceeds will go to the 125+ year old temple’s restoration and building fund. Dave Bennett: Roots of Pop – Swing to Rock live concert, 
3 – 5 p.m. One of the only artists saluting the Roots of Pop, Dave Bennett and his band covers music from the swing era and Rock-n-Roll to country, Elvis and the Beatles.
