Busybody!

January 3 – 19:
“Busybody” by Jack Popplewell. Detective Harry Baxter is plagued by a head cold, a missing corpse and an officious office cleaner, Mrs. Piper, who found the body. Baxter’s patience is strained by Mrs. Piper’s chatty verbosity as he tries to learn the facts. Motives for murder abound and all the office staff and the corpse’s wife are suspects. When the corpse suddenly appears alive, Mrs. Piper still insists that there is a body. Detective Baxter’s continued investigation is met with more frustration and curious results.
