Georgia Beach Walk Nature Tours!
OnGoing: The Georgia coast is a living, breathing ecosystem, composed of barrier islands, river systems, and acres of marshlands. It is a breeding ground for fish, shellfish, shore birds, sea turtles and marine mammals. Take a Georgia Beach Walk Nature Tour, and you can explore the beach from the edge of the dunes to the low tide. Learn about sea shells, critters living above and below the sand, pull a small seine net through the shallows and see who swims just below the surface! Step into the salt marsh, get to know the fiddler crabs, periwinkle snails, & native plants along with their incredible adaptations for survival. Georgia Sea Turtle Center!
OnGoing: The Center is open to the general public and offers an interactive Exhibit Gallery and Rehabilitation Pavilion with a number of view-able sea turtle patients. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a hospital for ill and injured sea turtles. We are the only hospital of its kind in the state of Georgia. $7 for adults (13+ years). $6 for Seniors (65+ years). $5 for children (4-12 years). FREE for children 3 and under. $6 for Active Duty Military Personnel, College Students and Teachers (ID required). Prices include tax. Visitors under 16 years old must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. In accordance with State Health Department regulations, all swimsuits must be covered. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Mondays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. During the months of December, January, and February, we are closed on Mondays. Second Sunday at Gascoigne Bluff!
Second Sundays: This popular family-friendly music event takes place at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. 1-7 p.m. Each month, the proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends–locals and visitors alike–who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music. Raffle tickets are sold for door prizes contributed by area businesses. Kids can play in the inflatable bounce house and slides. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled community event! 1000 Arthur J.
