Georgia Sea Turtle Center! The Center is open to the general public and offers an interactive Exhibit Gallery and Rehabilitation Pavilion with a number of viewable sea turtle patients. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a hospital for ill and injured sea turtles. We are the only hospital of its kind in the state of Georgia. $7 for adults (13+ years). $6 for Seniors (65+ years). $5 for children (4-12 years). FREE for children 3 and under. $6 for Active Duty Military Personnel, College Students and Teachers (ID required). Prices include tax. Visitors under 16 years old must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. In accordance with State Health Department regulations, all swimsuits must be covered. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Christmas Twilight Tours, 2017. Exclusive to the holiday season, enjoy a special evening trolley ride through the National Historic Landmark District highlighting the story of Christmas on Jekyll Island. The tour includes a special stop at Faith Chapel, showcasing the magnificent stained glass masterpiece, “Adoration of the Christ Child.” The evening concludes at Indian Mound Cottage with music and light refreshments. Second Sundays:
This popular family-friendly music event takes place at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. Each month, the proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends – locals and visitors alike – who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music. Raffle tickets are sold for door prizes contributed by area businesses. Kids can play in the inflatable bounce house and slides. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled community event! 1 to 7 p.m.

December 1-January 5:
Jekyll Island Skating Village is back in its riverfront location for the 2019-20 season. Located in the picturesque Historic District, the Jekyll Island Skating Village features a synthetic ice rink and real ice skates. This unique surface takes the pain and cold out of ice skating and is easy for kids and adults of all ages. Skate on Jekyll Island among history, under ancient oaks, and with a spectacular view of the Jekyll River. Closed Christmas day. December 1, 5-8, 19-22, 28-30:
Explore the Tall Ship Lynx! Privateer Lynx is a replica of an 1812 privateer with the same name. The ship is out of Nantucket, Mass. that is owned and operated by the Lynx Educational Foundation. Tall Ship Lynx is a well respected and famous Top Sail Schooner Tall Ship. The Lynx mission is to teach the youth about maritime history during the 1812 war when was fighting for our independence and for fair trade. The ship will be open to the public offering free dockside Deck Tours, along with offering their award-winning educational programs to schools and youth groups. The ship will be at Morningstar Marina, 206 Marina Dr. The Ships grand arrival is November 10. Coastal Symphony of Georgia presents Concert Notes! The second concert of the season celebrates a fairy tale, a commanding trumpet solo, and a perennial holiday favorite. German composer Engelbert Humperdinck’s 19th Century Opera Hansel & Gretel is taken from the Grimm Brother’s fairy tale. The Overture delights us with lush melodies, the playful sounds of childhood, feelings of nostalgia-the magical feeling of a fairy tale. Brunswick High School, 3885 Altamaha Ave. 8-10 p.m.

December 1-2:
Glynn Visual Arts’ Mistletoe Market Holiday Festival will be held in Postell Park, 532 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island in the Village from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. This fine art and gift market has become a mainstay of the Golden Isles’ holiday festivities. “This year, we expect between 60-70 accomplished artists and artisans offering a wide array of quality artwork including two dimensional art, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, photography, woodworking, baskets, fabric and mixed media. This show combines fine art, fabulous gifts, great food, entertainment and family fun in a festive outdoor island holiday atmosphere. And, are you a dog lover? Don’t miss our local pooch parade at the Holiday Hound Hike on December 1! Doggies (and sometimes potbellied pigs!) parade all dressed up in their holiday finery. Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. sharp! December 2:

Hoffman’s “The Nutcracker and The Mouse King.” Give yourself up to the music and the adventures of Clara as we listen to March of the Toy Soldiers, Waltz of the Flowers, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and so many more musical favorites from this delightful ballet.

Holiday High Tea has become a holiday tradition at the Jekyll Island Club Resort. December 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 & 28:
Take a ride on Jekyll’s jolliest holiday trolley to see over half a million lights around the island. Sit back, relax and enjoy the magical wonders of the season from historic live oaks dressed in their holiday best, to light displays set in a coastal wonderland. This 40-minute holiday lights tour will include a pit-stop at Faith Chapel and finish off with festive holiday beverages. Tour starts at 6:30 p.m. (approx. 40 minutes) at the  Mosaic Jekyll Island Museum, 100 Stable Rd., Jekyll Island.  $15 For Adults, $7 For Children 5-12, Children 4 And Under Are Free. (912) 635-4036.

December 6 & 7:
39th Annual Hofwyl Plantation Christmas takes place from 6-9 p.m. Visitors will walk along the illuminated path under centuries old oaks and will be treated to a guided tour of the antebellum rice plantation. Enter the front door of the decorated plantation home where members of the Glynn County Garden Club Council will treat visitors to beautifully holiday decorated rooms and period dressed interpreters will share stories of the plantation. History buffs will enjoy Company A, 26th Georgia Volunteer Infantry and other units as they re-enact a pre-Civil War muster of the Glynn County Guards and Brunswick Rifles militia units. You will have the opportunity to see cannon firings which shoot flames over 100 feet from the barrels. Step back to the mid-1800s as the re-enactors demonstrate camp life. While strolling around the plantation, enjoy hot wassail and cookies as you listen to live musicians playing holiday music and singing Christmas carols. Also, Santa Claus has agreed to make a special appearance during both nights. Santa will be sitting by a cozy fireplace as he talks with the young ones; guests are welcome to take pictures of Santa and the children in his specially decorated room. 5556 U.S. Highway 17 N., Brunswick. December 6:
Face 2 Face in Concert! Face to Face is an amazing tribute to superstars Sir Elton John and Billy Joel. Elton and Billy dominated the charts through the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s selling millions of records with mega hits such as “Saturday Night,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Yellow Brick Road,” “Candle in the Wind,” “Piano Man,” “Big Shot,” and “Just the Way You Are.” The two artists promise a high energy, interactive Rock ‘N’ Roll show that has each performing a solo set before a finale that has the two piano men playing together on separate pianos while sharing lyrics on each other’s songs. Doors open at 7 p.m. Show begins at 8 p.m. at Sea Island’s Rainbow Island, 100 Cloister Dr. Sea Island. Tickets: $45/person. Food and Beverage will be available for purchase. Chairs encouraged. December 6:
Come enjoy a movie with Santa! Each child will visit with Santa, parents will have the opportunity to take photos, and Santa will have a special gift for each child. The Christmas Classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will be shown from 6-8 p.m. every half hour in the theatre of the St. Simons Casino Building, 550 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island. We will also have hot chocolate, cookies and letter writing for Santa.. $3.00 per person in attendance. *This is a cash only event.*

December 7:
Holly Jolly Jekyll Parade and the Lighting of the Great Tree takes place December 7 from 4:30-7 p.m. Line up begins in the Jekyll Island Golf Course parking lot at 4:30 p.m. Island guests and residents are encouraged to watch the parade along the route and afterwards meet on the Main Lawn to view all of the participants. While you’re there, enjoy holiday music and work on your Christmas shopping lists at the Pier Road shops. Everyone is encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for the Georgia State Patrol’s Toys for Tots. Parade is free and open to the public.

December 7:
The Brunswick Christmas Parade is an annual community parade takes place on the first Saturday in December. Starting at 5:30 p.m. at Howard Coffin Park, 1430 Lanier Blvd., Brunswick. Get into the spirit with as over 100 floats, vehicles, walking groups and marching band units make their way one mile down the length of Gloucester Street to Mary Ross Waterfront Park in the heart of the Old Town National Register Historic District. December 7:
The annual community chorus presentation of Handel’s Messiah will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 7 at Wesley United Methodist Church. Free and open to the public, but seating is limited. 151 Old Plantation Road, Jekyll Island.

December 8:
Family Christmas Concert Enjoy a Holiday themed piano performance by Terry Readdick. The program will include familiar pieces ranging from Joy to the World to Jingle Bells with updated, creative arrangements and seldom heard piano selections from the Nutcracker! December 14:
Come celebrate Christmas with an acclaimed concert pianist, classical cellist, award-winning soprano, and lyric tenor at the 4th Annual Christmas Concert 7 the Jekyll Island Convention Center, 75 Beachview Dr. N, Jekyll Island. At this event, sponsored by Caroline’s Gifts and Flowers and the Jekyll Island Authority, you will hear selections ranging from traditional Christmas carols and songs to beloved classical pieces. There will even be an opportunity for the audience to sing-along with all-time favorite carols. Everyone is welcome and admission is free of charge.

December 13-27:
The Lighthouse Trolleys invites to you to board up with us and come out to tour the Tour Christmas Lights of St. Simons Island. We are the company that started this community event and thousands have joined us each year to celebrate community and the lights and sounds of Christmas. Island homeowners really decorate up their homes and each year promises new additions and upgrades. Sing along with Christmas Carols, Christmas music played throughout the tour. Bring your cameras and vote the best house in each neighborhood!

Jekyll & Hyde Comic-Horror Con is Southeast Georgia’s Premiere Pop Culture Event and the largest of its kind in Southern Georgia and Northeast Florida. Jekyll Con attracts thousands of pop culture fans of all ages for a weekend of nerdy fun at the beachfront Jekyll Island Convention Center, celebrating everything in the comic book, fantasy, sci-fi, anime, and gaming fandom!This family-friendly event hosts some of the top vendors, artists, and celebrities in the industry; including panels, workshops, gaming tournaments, and live entertainment for all ages. Ring in the New Year in style! This year we are throwing a New Year’s Eve party in the Morgan Center, 151 Old Plantation Road, Jekyll Island. Enjoy live music and great company while you celebrate the beginning of 2020. All party attendees will receive complimentary party favors and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. We will be dancing the night away at the Jekyll Island Club Resort with live music by BackBeat Boulevard! New Year’s Eve Celebration: Ghosts and Legends of Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation! Join us for a special New Year’s Eve version of “Ghosts and Legends of Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation”. Celebrate the New Year with an eerie journey back in time at Coastal Georgia’s most haunted rice plantation. We will walk beneath centuries old Live Oak trees, explore the plantation out-buildings and finish with a lantern tour of the plantation house. At the stroke of midnight, welcome 2020 by ringing the historic plantation bell and having a sip of sparkling cider. As we stroll through Hofwyl-Broadfield’s moss laden trees hear the stories of five generations of plantation owners and the African-Americans who worked here, in both slavery and freedom. There will be tales of recent ghostly encounters, plantation folklore and the rich but tragic history of the Lowcountry rice fields. The event is part of the nationwide “First Day Hike” initiative. Gates will open at 9:30 p.m. Program begins promptly at 10 p.m. and will end at 12:30 a.m. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
