Georgia Sea Turtle Center! The Center is open to the general public and offers an interactive Exhibit Gallery and Rehabilitation Pavilion with a number of viewable sea turtle patients. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a hospital for ill and injured sea turtles. We are the only hospital of its kind in the state of Georgia. $7 for adults (13+ years). $6 for Seniors (65+ years). $5 for children (4-12 years). FREE for children 3 and under. $6 for Active Duty Military Personnel, College Students and Teachers (ID required). Prices include tax. Visitors under 16 years old must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. In accordance with State Health Department regulations, all swimsuits must be covered. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Second Sundays:
This popular family-friendly music event takes place at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. 1-7 p.m. The proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends – locals and visitors alike – who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music. Raffle tickets are sold for door prizes contributed by area businesses. Kids can play in the inflatable bounce house and slides. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled community event!

November 1:
Ghosts and Legends of Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation! Take an eerie journey back in time at Coastal Georgia’s most haunted rice plantation on select nights this fall. Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation State Historic Site will be offering Ghosts and Legends walking tours of the site. We will walk beneath centuries old Live Oak trees, explore the plantation out-buildings and finish with a lantern tour of the plantation house. As we stroll through Hofwyl-Broadfield’s moss laden trees hear the stories of five generations of plantation owners and the African-Americans who worked here, in both slavery and freedom. There will be tales of recent ghostly encounters, plantation folklore and the rich but tragic history of the Lowcountry rice fields. 6:30 p.m. Cost is $15. Explore the Tall Ship Lynx! Privateer Lynx is a replica of an 1812 privateer with the same name. The ship is out of Nantucket, Mass. that is owned and operated by the Lynx Educational Foundation. Tall Ship Lynx is a well respected and famous Top Sail Schooner Tall Ship. The Lynx mission is to teach the youth about maritime history during the 1812 war when was fighting for our independence and for fair trade. The ship will be open to the public offering free dockside Deck Tours, along with offering their award-winning educational programs to schools and youth groups. The ship will be at Morningstar Marina, 206 Marina Dr. The Ships grand arrival is November 10. November 15-30:
The Schooner Virginia Tall Ship will be coming into Brunswick on November 15th and staying until the 30th. Schooner Virginia is a 122 ft. wooden replica of a 20th century pilot tall ship that had the same name. Schooner Virginia is owned and operated by the City of Norfolk along with nonprofit organization Nauticus foundation. They will be docked at the Brunswick Landing Marina, 1701 Newcastle Street, where they will be offering public sailing aboard Schooner Virginia as well as public deck tours, and their educational program for youth. Sea Island Half Marathon and 10K! Race entries are limited and early registration is suggested. The event itself is meant to provide an extra activity for locals and tournament patrons along with raising funds for The Davis Love Foundation. Ring in the holidays with the lighting of the great tree in Jekyll Island’s Historic District. Celebration! This holly jolly event with the whole family. Festivities begin with a Candy Cane Hunt and continue with Story Time with Santa throughout the day. Write your letter and mail it directly through the North Pole Express. Shop for unique gifts at the Holiday Market. Live music by the area’s favorite bands. Skate under the twinkling lights of the Historic District at the Jekyll Island Skating Village. Or, bounce and play until your heart’s content in the kid’s zone. There are fun activities planned throughout the day. A variety of food trucks will be on hand. As the sun begins to set, settle on the Main Lawn for the big show. The great tree will be lit, snow will fall, and the skies will sparkle with fireworks as the holiday season officially begins on Jekyll Island. America’s country star Cole Swindell will be taking the stage on Saturday, November 23rd 7-9 p.m. at the St. Simons Island Airport, 115 Terminal Way, St. Simons Island.
