Georgia Sea Turtle Center! The Center is open to the general public and offers an interactive Exhibit Gallery and Rehabilitation Pavilion with a number of view-able sea turtle patients. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a hospital for ill and injured sea turtles. We are the only hospital of its kind in the state of Georgia. $7 for adults (13+ years), $6 for Seniors (65+ years), $5 for children (4-12 years), FREE for children 3 and under. $6 for Active Duty Military Personnel, College Students and Teachers (ID required). Prices include tax. Visitors under 16 years old must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. In accordance with State Health Department regulations, all swimsuits must be covered. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Mondays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. During the months of December, January, and February, we are closed on Mondays. Explore the beach from the edge of the dunes to the low tide. Learn about sea shells, critters living above and below the sand, pull a small seine net through the shallows and see who swims just below the surface! Step into the salt marsh, get to know the fiddler crabs, periwinkle snails, & native plants along with their incredible adaptations for survival. St. Simons Trolley Ghost Tour takes a frightening step back into history when you visit spooky island graveyards and hear stories of Mary the Wanderer, the island’s lighthouse, and more haunted lore from within the Golden Isles. All aboard… if you dare! Trolley departs at 8:45 p.m. at the St. Simons Island Village Fishing Pier and boarding begins 30 minutes before departure. $15 for adults, $7 for children, and under three years ride for free. Friday & Saturday Nights:
The Ghost Walk of St. Simons is an entertaining walking tour filled with tales of terror, mystery, and fright. Learn about the island’s very spirited history as you are guided through the dark streets and passageways by your very own tour guide. Flashlights are recommended. Ghosts and Legends of Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation! Take an eerie journey back in time at Coastal Georgia’s most haunted rice plantation on Friday and Saturday nights this fall. Stroll through Hofwyl-Broadfield’s moss laden trees and hear the stories of five generations of plantation owners and the African-Americans who worked there, in both slavery and freedom. About 1½ hours and ½ mile in length. Reservations are required. Tickets are $20 per person. Pre-paid reservations save $5 per person. This popular family-friendly music event takes place at Gascoigne Bluff on St. Simons Island. 1-7 p.m. Each month, the proceeds from Second Sunday benefit a variety of select local charitable organizations. Hundreds of music fans, families, friends–locals and visitors alike–who converge on the park armed with lawn chairs, blankets and coolers, enjoy listening to the live music.
